Last Saturday morning at 9:30am, I and about 60 others decided to enjoy the health benefits of a month-long Tai Chi class in the park behind Athens Regional Hospital’s Mind Body Institute. The class is offered by the Mind Body Institute for free from the generosity of a donation. The teacher, Julie Buffalo, was very easy to follow, and she brought the mind-body-spirit aspects of Tai Chi into the class. The beauty of being outside with other Athenians doing such a peaceful activity together is quite uncommon, and such a great gift to each of us and the community. After the hour was over, I felt great. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are such great ways to relieve stress and raise one’s energy. I look forward to next week.
